HOW TO BE A PERFECT GUEST ON AIRBNB?
The hosts have a responsibility to satisfy the request of their guests. But on the contrary side the guests must also follow the house rules.
On the surface, the principal responsibility of a guest might be to enjoy themselves above all else. The real responsibility of the guest, when staying with people not in the business of running a bed and breakfast, is not to burden the host. Whether you’re being hosted by your brother, distant relative, friend or stranger, your goal in playing the role of guest should be to ensure the host would invite you to return again and again.

HERE WE GO:
- Fill out your profile.
With as much detail as possible, including completing verifications of your identity. This helps give a host confidence that you have nothing to hide.
2. Be communicative and polite.
You are a guest in someone’s home, and even if you are the most welcome of guests, you’re still a disruption to their normal schedules and routines. Good communication can minimize the disruption and smooth over any tension.
If you have any other schedule, you should share it with your host. This helps your host to plan for meals, schedule time to spend with you and even help you in case you are in trouble. You’ll also want to ask your host about his schedule. If they have to be up to work very early in the morning, you likely won’t be able to plan late night activities with them or you should return from late night activities as quietly as possible and do not bother host.
3. Follow the house rules and treat the host as one of your friend.
Guests sharing a home with the host face more challenges. If you are visiting a foreign country, carefully research that country’s religious beliefs or traditions. For example, many Japanese homes provide slippers when entering. Although not all homes have slippers, if they are available and everyone else is wearing them, it is a good idea to follow suit. You should always make sure to wear socks or stockings when visiting someone’s house, as it could be considered rude not to.
4. Be prepared for your visit.
- Hone your packing skills: ensure your bag is well stocked with everything you need.
- Plan a rough itinerary: Your host might have an absolutely amazing tour of their city lined up for you but it is better that you can explore the local around yourself, more exciting.
- Plan for your own transportation: If you’re going to be doing a lot of traveling in and out of the local to see the local sights, you may need to rent a vehicle or at least ask about the host’s loaner car/ motorcycle.
5. You’re not staying at a hotel.
- Clean up after yourself: Every morning make the guest bed or, if the guest bed is a big obtrusive air mattress in the middle of their living room, put the guest bed and bedding away.
- Ease the financial burden of hosting: If you’re going to be staying more than a few days, consider offering to take your host shopping to restock on groceries for example.
- Send a thank you message when you get back home: When you get home, send a note thanking the host for their hospitality, their help and guiding.
Adopting even a portion of the above tips and tricks will make you a dream guest. That’s usually enough to earn you a perfect review from a host on Airbnb.
