It’s finally time for the chilliest, coziest, most festive event in Coin Hunt World! This year, as snow dusts the streets, penguins frolic in icy waters, and colorful lights are strung all about, we invite you to celebrate Christmas with us in the Cubieverse from December 21 to 29 UTC.

Here’s what you can expect…

🎁 Collect Candy Canes!

The first thing you will notice during the event is that vaults will start dropping Candy Canes. This is a resource needed to progress through the Christmas Quest Chain.

🌟 Progress Through the Quest!

During last year’s Christmas Event, we officially introduced the Quest Chain mechanic — and now it’s returning! This time, there are 18 quest blocks (20 for white-tier countries) that need to be unlocked to get to the end. What exactly the quest entails is a secret this time…

Along the way you will get rewarded with Christmas Tree Construction Blueprints (more on that in a bit). Some quest blocks require a key to unlock, others require a certain amount of Candy Canes, and some require you to equip a specific cubie in order to advance.

And of course, at the end of the Quest Chain, you’ll find the monstrous Big Tickler Box, which has lots of tantalizing goodies inside, including an exclusive HQ Skin and an NFT for the first five finishers from each country!

🎄 Build a Christmas Wonderland!

Like last year, the Christmas Quest Chain rewards Christmas Tree Construction Blueprints, which allow you to transform one of your User Vaults (UVs) into a common, rare or epic Christmas Tree.

How to Build Christmas Trees

It’s simple! Just get within 10 meters of the UV you want to turn into a Christmas Tree, go to your inventory, and long press on the Construction Blueprint you wish to use. Now long press on the [BUILD HERE] button, and BOOM — instant holiday cheer!

Christmas Tree Construction Blueprints are burned upon use.

Please note: Your UV cannot be on cooldown if you wish to turn it into a Christmas Tree.

The Benefits of Christmas Trees

Once turned into a Christmas tree, your UV behaves just like before, except now it will give all players that use it a chance to drop Christmas resources and blueprints!

  • The common Christmas Tree Construction Blueprint allows you to turn one of your UVs into a common Christmas Tree. This tree can drop both the Santa Cubie BP and the Elf Cubie BP, as well as Christmas resources.
  • The rare Christmas Tree Construction Blueprint allows you to turn one of your UVs into a rare Christmas Tree. This tree can drop the Rudolph Cubie BP and the brand-new Ugly Christmas Sweater Cubie BP, as well as Christmas resources.
  • The epic Christmas Tree Construction Blueprint allows you to turn one of your UVs into an epic Christmas Tree. This tree can drop Christmas resources as well as a brand-new, super-secret epic cubie.

Once the event is over, all Christmas Tree UVs will return back to their normal state, so take advantage of them while you can!

🦌 Craft Cubies!

This year, you’ll be able to collect several Cubies — new and old! Here’s a quick peek at what’s up for grabs:

The Santa, Elf, and Rudolph Cubies are returning from previous years’ events, while the Ugly Christmas Sweater Cubie (a new Randomizer Blueprint with 4 possible outcomes) and a mysterious new epic cubie are joining the mix.

As a reminder, you can get blueprints and resources for all of these cubies by building and using Christmas Trees of various rarities.

And here’s a particularly spicy bean for you: For 2023’s Christmas Event, we will most likely introduce an all-new slate of cubies to replace the current ones — so this will likely be your last chance to collect the current set for quite some time!

🍪 Strategy Tidbits

Like pretty much all Coin Hunt World events, there are several different ways to approach the Christmas Event. Let’s review some of the possibilities!

The Chill Way

The easiest way to get your hand on the new cubies is to just hunt when you feel like it and not even attempt to complete the Christmas Quest Chain! Instead, collect as many Candy Canes and resources as you can and, at the end of each day, put them up for sale in the Auction House.

This will earn you a nice stack of keys, which you can then use to bid on Christmas Cubies in the Auction House if you wish.

The “I’m Totally Not Addicted Guys, I Promise” Strategy

If you want to really spread Christmas cheer and have a chance of making it to the end of the Quest Chain, then you need to go out hunting with a specific goal in mind: find as many Christmas Trees as you can.

The best way to do so is to check local hunter communities (use the list in the #community-server-links channel on the official CHW Discord server) and the fan-created Coin Hunt Map to find out where Christmas Trees are being built by other hunters.

Why? Because the blueprints for this event can only drop from Christmas Trees! The more Christmas Trees you find, the better your chances of getting your hands on new BPs and the resources necessary to print them.

Beast Mode

Have you completely accepted that Coin Hunt World is a lifestyle, not a game? Go Beast Mode! Finish the entire Christmas Quest chain yourself, build three (or more…) Christmas Trees, collect all the resources, and print all the new cubies.

This strategy will not only yield the most leaderboard points, but will also give all your local hunters extra trees to hit, making you the hero of the town and increasing the chances for all the hunters in your area to get the new BPs! (You’ll also get lots of Blue Key kickbacks when people flock to your Christmas Trees.)

However, Beast Mode requires a ton of Candy Canes and lots of effort, so you will need to grind hard to get to the end of the quest chain!

🎅 Miscellaneous Notes

  • The Christmas trivia category will be activated during the event in addition to this month’s 10 categories.
  • Like all other events, the 3/3/3 rewards system will remain in effect for all vaults during the Christmas Event. White, Blue, and Green Vaults reward Candy Canes when a resource box is dropped. Yellow Vaults are unchanged during this event.
  • When you correctly solve a Christmas-themed trivia question, you will have a 100% chance of receiving a Christmas Resource Box from a vault.
  • Christmas Trees always have a 100% chance of dropping a Christmas Resource Box, overriding the 3/3/3 system.
  • In a change from last year, Mystery Boxes will no longer have a chance to drop Candy Canes during the event.

❄️ In Closing

We hope this year’s Christmas Event is a chance for you to connect with your local Coin Hunt World community, get some exercise despite the winter weather, and get into the holiday spirit. More generally, thank you for a wonderful 2022 — be safe and well.

Happy hunting,

snowowl 🕯️
