Introducing User Vaults
Hello Coin Hunters!
Even in the earliest concept stages of this game we knew we wanted to have different ways in which hunters can influence the game map. Today we’re super excited to test the first chapter of this vision: User Vaults
Unlike ordinary vault, user vaults are vaults that can be placed on the map by the players themselves. While hunting, you’ve probably have come across an area and thought to yourself: ooh this would be a great spot for a vault!
Well this is your chance to make that happen.
How can I begin placing User vaults?
- Unlock a user vault slot in your HQ
- Travel to the location where you want to build it
- Stand on the exact spot where you’d like it built
- Name & lock in the location
- Take a picture of the location to show to us why you think this is a great vault location
- Add the correct tags to the user vault
- Submit for approval
- Help out CubieDozer!
- Check your monthly earnings!
Let’s take a closer look:
1.Unlocking User Vault slots
Before you can build a user vault, you need to unlock a slot in your HQ. To start, everybody gets 10 blue User Vault slots. It will cost one green key to unlock one slot. So for 10 green keys you will be able to unlock all the slots and build 10 blue user vaults.
2.Travel to the place you want to build
How do I choose a good location to build it? As a quick test you can ask yourself:
Would people want to take pictures in this location?
If the answer is no, this is probably not a great location for a vault. Let’s look at some examples of where we would love to see user vaults:
Tourist spots
The Hollywood sign, The Eiffel tower, Niagara Falls…they are out there just waiting to be claimed.
Interesting Urban Art
Sometimes you’re walking down a random street in the city and you come across a cool statue, sculpture, graffiti, murals, art pieces... Perfect spot!
Beautiful gardens & parks
We all love the great outdoors. We think more people should breathe in some fresh air and absorb a healthy dose of nature. Look for the things that stand out: trees, fountains, crossroads, ponds, bridges….. make it interesting!
Breathtaking views
There are millions of spots on this planet that will take your breath away when you’re confronted with the spectacular views in front of you. Spots where everybody stops to take a picture of the view: prime candidate for a vault.
Commercial areas
People love shopping, so why not pick up a vault when you’re already there? Find the spots that standout in the malls like fountains, art pieces, crossroads, galleries…
Food & Drink
Famous restaurants. Your village’s most famous bar or hotdog stand. Or even help out your favorite local business by building a vault on their doorstep and increasing their foot traffic.
Entertainment
From mountain bike trails to football stadiums, if people in this location are having a good time, it’s a good place for a vault!
Historic sites
Old lighthouses, stone monoliths, museums — if you have a location with historic significance, that’s a great spot for a vault. Players like learning something new!
3.Stand on the exact spot where you want to build
The exact placement of the user vault will be in the exact position where you are standing, so go find a good spot.
4.Name & lock in the location
Give this User Vault a name. This is just for you. Other players won’t see the name. Naming the vault helps to identify it later once you’re back at your HQ.
Lock in the location.
5.Take a picture of the location to show to us why you think it’s great.
Whatever the most interesting thing in this spot is, point your camera at it and take a picture.
6.Add the correct tags to the user vault
You can choose from the following tags:
- Park
- Urban Art
- Nature
- Commercial
- Entertainment
- Food & Drink
- Historic site
- Tourist Spot
- View
You can select up to 3 of the most relevant tags (min 1)
7.Submit for approval
After submitting your user vault, a flag will appear in its spot. Now other players can no longer build here. It can take up to 72 hours for our team to review your submission.
TIPS to Improve your chances of getting accepted
- Don’t build your vault somewhere on a random street corner. Would somebody take a picture here?
- Every city and village, no matter the size, has some hidden gems which people in other cities don’t know about. Show other players where your city’s most interesting spots are!
Taking over existing blue vaults
You are allowed to take over normal existing blue vaults on the map. We figure since you are there standing in the spot you have a better idea of the perfect location, so if there is a normal blue vault very close to where the player wants to build, the existing vault will be destroyed in favor of the user vault. You can not take over other user vaults or any other structures other then blue vaults.
Approved! Build your User Vault
Once your location is accepted, your flag will disappear from the map & a CubieDozer will appear! These CubieDozers are undeniably the hardest workers of the entire Cubie family! He’s here to build your User Vault, but sadly, he’s out of resin :(
Fill up the tank!
Tap on your CubieDozer to refill its tank. You’ll need to fill 100 slots of 100 resin each. That’s a total of 10,000 resin to fill your Cubiedozer up. Along the way, you’ll earn Leaderboard points for each slot you fill.
Help your buddies!
But hold up! Everybody can stumble upon your Cubiedozer and they can add resin too! If you need some extra leaderboard points, you can help build other players’ User Vaults. You’ll earn Leaderboard Points for doing so.
Filled and ready to go!
Once all 100 slots are filled, the CubieDozer wakes up and begins building your User Vault. It takes 60 minutes to build. Once active , every player can start using your User Vault.
Check your monthly earnings!
Now your vault is out there earning keys for you! As the owner of this vault you will receive 5% of all keys inserted into it. These keys will arrive in the mailroom of your HQ.
But that’s not all
Every time a player solves your user vault they get 100% of the leaderboard points for that vault and you also get 100% leaderboard points.
Popular user vaults will be crucial to maintaining leaderboard positions.
From your HQ you can tap at each of your user vaults to check its total or latest earnings.
