The Referral Update
Are you ready to refer more new players, Hunters?
✨ A New Era of Referrals
We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear: Our current system for Coin Hunt World referrals isn’t meeting the need, and to fix it, we’re launching a brand-new referral experience that accomplishes several goals:
- Connect referrers and referred players in-game so that new players have a “guide” to help them thrive in Coin Hunt World,
- Support creators and influencers with a new streamlined referral code system in addition to our old referral link system, and
- Remove the guesswork surrounding whether a referral actually worked by adding transparency to the process.
We’re confident that these changes will aid in growing our community like never before — and rewarding those who help us grow, too!
The new system should be activated sometime this week.
🤔 How It Works
Step 1 — Baby Bluebie 🥺
Upon logging into the game for the first time, new players will be greeted with the “My Referrer” icon (the bottom-most on the below screenshot).
This icon will remain on screen for the first seven days of play, after which it will vanish. Any referral locked in before that point will still remain in effect, however.
Step 2 — Adding a Referral 🤗
After tapping the “My Referrer” icon, new players will be met with perhaps the most despondent Blue Cubie you’ve ever seen, as well as a prompt to enter another player’s in-game name.
If a player has signed up for the game using an old-fashioned referral link, the referral link owner’s username will automatically be listed here. Otherwise, the new player can enter a username to serve as their referral.
Referrals cannot be changed after being entered, so choose wisely!
Step 3 — Confirmation ✅
Once new players enter and confirm their referrer’s name, a screen will pop up displaying the referrer’s cubie and username, as well as a brief explainer of what a referrer is, how they can help you become more acquainted with Coin Hunt World, and what conditions need to be met to unlock referral rewards for both players.
New players can return to this screen at any time by tapping the “My Referrer” button, which, once again, disappears seven days after account creation.
Step 4 — Connect and Learn! 🥰
When the new player taps “Understood” on the confirmation screen, they are automatically taken to the in-game profile of their referrer, which includes the “Chat on Discord” button, Discord username, last login time, leaderboard rankings, etc.
We think this is a great way to connect new players and veterans and ensure that referrals get across the finish line!
(If you’re looking for a reliable Buddy Quest partner or helpful referral, stay far away from guest22. They haven’t logged into the game in 19,322 days — almost 53 years! I wonder what Coin Hunt World was like back in 1969.)

Further Updates to the New Player Experience
While we do not have anything specific to share at this time, we can confirm that additional changes to enhance the new player experience are coming in the months ahead.
Monthly Referral Leaderboards
We recognize that players interact with Coin Hunt World in many different ways, including by creating amazing community projects like the Wiki or Coin Hunt Map. These projects often generate a sizeable number of referrals, and we want to reward them for it.
For that reason, we are excited to tease the addition of Monthly Referral Leaderboards, which will reward the top 5 referrers of each month with special prizes, much like our leaderboards for hunting! Like always, the specifics of this feature are subject to change as development progresses.
While we can’t give a specific launch date for this just yet, keep it in mind as you begin to plan your referral empire.
