Presenting CoinCollect, an interview with Diesmaster
It is no secret that most projects in the blockchain space lack ease of use and are therefore focused on use by the tech community themselves. Not this one, CoinCollect is one of those rare crypto projects targeting ‘normal’ people. Let’s interview this team’s product lead, Chris van Maarseveen (Diesmaster), a 17 year old on a mission.
Chris, please explain us, what is CoinCollect?
CoinCollect is an app that solves the issue for people that want to get into crypto, but lack the experience to venture on their own. It came from me helping a bunch of people I knew with setting up their own wallet and buying their first bitcoin. I had so many people asking this that I knew there were more people than I could ever help, that planted the seed for CoinCollect. A way to make it easy for them to do it on themselves.
Why do we need another wallet?
CoinCollect is not just a wallet. Aside from the obvious easy and simple interface, it offers something that no other smartphone wallet can offer at this moment. That is the part of the integrated decentralized exchange. The main feature of our app is that people can exchange coins without leaving the application itself. We chose for this setup, because it eliminates the need for accounts, which helps avoiding privacy risks and simplifies compliance. It also eliminates the chances to get hacked as there is no central point. Our goal is to make it easy for users to get into crypto. So getting burdens out of their way, and getting rid of their fears is the obvious choice.

How do you make sure people will continue to use CoinCollect?
We want to make it easy for users to use crypto. This means we also notify on set price fluctuations. This way users can respond accordingly and claim profits or avoid losses. This is also how we keep the users engaged. We deploy a referral program as well, where users can onboard friends to start using CoinCollect. Both the user and the friend will be rewarded in CoinCollect coins.
What is the roadmap and long term vision?
Our Vision is that all people should be able to make use of the crypto solutions that are present. We want to enable people to make the first step towards taking part in the crypto revolution and to enable them to have a great start position when it really takes off.
We will all be paying with our broad coin and token collections in the future. Any coin to any coin. Smart wallets will exchange on the spot when needed. CoinCollect believes that this process should be trustless, decentralized, privacy focused and easy to use.
