Changelog Speaker Spotlight — Long Vuong (Founder/CEO) of TomoChain
CoinGecko will be hosting sixteen exciting crypto projects at the upcoming Changelog stage during Invest Asia 2019 happening on 10–11 September 2019. The Changelog stage offers projects the opportunity to share important updates and development roadmap with conference attendees.
Our first speaker spotlight is Long Vuong, Founder/CEO of TomoChain and a PhD candidate in economics of the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Long is also the co-founder and the former project lead of NEM blockchain prior to creating TomoChain.
TomoChain is a public blockchain which aims to achieve high transaction speeds without compromising decentralization. TomoChain uses an innovative consensus method called Proof of Stake Voting which incentivizes token-holders to play an active part in staking across a network of 150 masternodes, and to monitor their performance and governance actively. Its staking-governance dapp, TomoMaster, is recognized as one of the leading staking platforms in the industry.
1) What are the main things you will be highlighting at Changelog?
The main things I will be speaking about will be:
- TomoChain’s Masternode system and POSV consensus
- TomoZ’s zero-friction protocol which allows users to pay transaction fees with the same tokens they are holding.
- Briefly discuss TomoX’s protocol: A secure and efficient relayer-masternode decentralized cryptocurrency exchange protocol.”
2) What’s the biggest challenge TomoChain faced this year and how was it resolved?
Of all the challenges:
- The data inflation issue we had in the first month of the mainnet launch in December 2018. The engineering team quickly implemented a 1.2 patch that migrated the issue, we’ve documented the event in this Medium post.
- Attracting good third party developers and projects has been an ongoing challenge that we will be addressing more aggressively toward the end of this year.
3) How would you describe TomoChain in one line?
The efficient public blockchain powered by Proof of Stake Voting.
4) Describe your vision for the future of TomoChain
TomoChain’s vision is to become the infrastructure of choice for the next generation of global open finance. TomoChain aims to be a strong contender to attract further financial innovations in the crypto finance industry.
5) What do you think is the biggest hindrance/roadblock to mainstream adoption of Crypto in general?
Web3 vision and Decentralized applications are still very important to crypto and blockchain industry. But at this time more than ever, we need applications that can break through and reach a more mainstream set of users. That means solving all the major frictions that hinder new users to start using crypto products including UX issues, asset custody issues, blockchain performance issues, etc.
6) What mascot would you use for your project? If you already have one, what inspired you to pick said mascot?
We have a TomoChain’s rocket plushy which is really cute :)
