Announcing the IDEO CoLab & CoinList Hackathon, in partnership with Ethereum, NEAR, Oasis, Stellar, and Tezos
We’re excited to announce that we’re supporting an online hackathon hosted by IDEO CoLab and five leading blockchain protocols — Ethereum, NEAR, Oasis, Stellar, and Tezos. This hackathon, which we believe represents one of the most diverse collaborations in the space to date, is focused on making blockchains useful and usable.
Since launching Build nine months ago, we’ve helped teams like 0x, Coda, and Dapper Labs educate and onboard 1000’s of new developers into Web3 ecosystems. These developers have gone on to win Y-Combinator hackathons and make major improvements to foundational technologies for blockchain protocols.
The number of people interacting with blockchain-based applications needs to radically expand in order for the industry to move forward, and we believe there are few companies better positioned to help make this happen than IDEO. The firm has helped build groundbreaking products ranging from the world’s first laptop to the first Apple mouse.
Hackathon Details
The focus of the hackathon is on building intuitively usable products that solve real challenges. To that end, the hackathon goes beyond technical development and also challenges participants to take their products to market.
Timeline
- Thursday, July 25 — Hackathon announcement
- Monday, August 5 — Hackathon starts
- Monday, September 9 — Adoptathon starts
- Sunday, September 22 — Hackathon and Adoptathon end
Prizes
There are over $25,000 in cash prizes available and a number of unique experiences including tickets to conferences like DevCon and an invitation to become an IDEO CoLab Resident in SF or Boston.
