9 Different Cryptocurrencies You Can Now Donate To The Ukrainian Government
Money to be used for military and humanitarian purposes.
The government of Ukraine has launched a donation website together with cryptocurrency platforms.
“Cryptocurrencies play an important role in Ukraine’s defense,” Deputy Digital Minister Oleksandr Bornyakov said Monday.
These “facilitate the flow of funds for Ukrainian citizens and servicemen.”
The Aid for Ukraine website allows users to submit donations in ten different cryptocurrencies, which are then converted into dollars.
First success
According to a tracker on the website, nearly $50 million (45 million euros) has already been raised overnight. The money will be used to support the Ukrainian military as well as civilians who “urgently need humanitarian assistance,” the statement said. In addition to the Bahamas-based platform FTX, Ukrainian companies Everstake and Kuna are also involved in the initiative.
