Beyond the Hype: Building a Solid Web3 Brand That Doesn’t Fade With Time
Strategies for building a sustainable web3 brand that plays the long game
Have you noticed that for many web3 brands, after they sell out their initial collection, we barely seem to hear from them again? I’m not talking about a rug project or some hit-and-run scam.
No-no, these guys are very legit, but it just seems like after their initial offering, they’ve got nothing up their selves and very soon the brand fades away into yesterday’s news
Well, the reason is that they didn’t set up structures to grow the brand after the fulfilment of the roadmap, which is why the once active and vibrant community turned into a ghost town.
You sure don't want results like this. Let’s explore strategies to build a stable and scaleable web3 brand
Strategies for Long-Term Growth in Web3
- Drive a long-term vision
- Be innovative
- Perform constant iteration and upgrades
- Release a chain of products
Let’s run through them, shall we?
right behind ya
Drive a Long-Term Vision
When you go through the white paper or roadmap of many web3 brands, you would see their laid-out plans for one year, at most two years after a successful sell-out
And that’s for the ones that add a time frame, they mostly just highlight things they will do with a certain percentage of the mint funds.
After all of those plans have been actualized, the community quickly becomes a ghost town because there is nothing tangible going on again.
In addition to their actual offering, if the team behind the brand adds a kind of post utility for those that would stick around longer, it would make things more interesting, don’t you think?
It could be a 3-5-year plan to build something massive, that way the community would have something to look forward to and have a reason to always check back on the server
Be Innovative
“The only sure way to succeed in a rapidly changing world is to keep changing.” — Winston Churchill
People easily get bored with the same thing over and over again, if you want to stay in the game long-term and retain your community members then you have to do a lot of revision.
Revise your content strategy, community-building techniques, engagement tactics and various parts of your brand to see how you can do things differently.
Improve your mode of delivery, mix things up, and make it excellent and exciting, that way people would love to stick around longer to see the next innovation you will come up with.
Also, allow the community to be actively involved in bringing up innovative ideas that can improve the brand
It was Robert E. Kahn who said Innovation thrives on open exchange of ideas, not secrecy.
Constant Iteration and Upgrades
One massive secret to premium growth is iteration. It saves you time and effort. Once you find a system, engagement tactic or content form that resonates with the community, all you need to do is iterate.
Analyze it till you find the elements that make it work then repeat the use of those elements. Also, leverage giving regular updates and upgrades to incorporate new features and improvements.
Release a Chain of Products
This is something I have seen many blue chip collections like World Of Women do. Let me run you through how they go about it.
After the initial product/utility, the web3 project pitched to sell their collection, they released a chain of follow-up products after a successful sell-out.
These products are in line with the brand’s vision and that makes it easy for the community to be interested in it.
It also keeps the community pretty engaged months and years after the initial mint, because the members are fully aware that the brand is building X product and they would love to stick around to get updates concerning it.
After the sale of product X, the team can start building another product, this way the community members are always on their toes, looking out for the next exciting product the team comes up with.
RECAP
Being relevant in the web3 space long term is not rocket science, you need to drive a long-term vision, constantly develop innovations, iterate strategies and release a chain of products.
Big love from my screen to yours!
