Marketplaces like SilkRoad, drove adoption from populations outside of the cryptocurrency space with its elusive anonymous black market.

2016–2017 Bull Market

The narrative for this bull run was largely driven by the growing interest in blockchain technology and the rise of initial coin offerings (ICOs). Towards the end of 2017, Bitcoin futures were launched by CBOE and CME, bringing more institutional investors into the space.

2020–2021 Bull Market
