Having experience with blockchain development and NFTs, I recently set out to create and deploy a generative art collection of my own. Like me, you may have found most tutorials either technically shallow (upload a jpeg) or unable to clarify the exact process by which these large collections are developed and deployed.

If you’ve done the initial research you likely have a few questions:

  • Exactly how do we scale programmatic art into the thousands?
  • How and where is the artwork stored for marketplace consumption?
  • How do we solve for centralization?
  • How do blockchain developers delay the ‘reveal’ of NFTs?

Let’s see if we can raise the curtain a bit on an increasingly popular art form.
