Barcelona rejects sponsorship deal from Binance and Polkadot
Less than a week ago, Spanish media reported: FC Barcelona left sponsorship deals from Binance and Polkadot. An advertising deal between a major European soccer club and a crypto company would have marked a historic moment. Increasingly, crypto companies are making it into pop culture.
Mostly, it is crypto exchanges that appear in public as the vanguard of cryptocurrencies. For example, Binance is already a sponsor of the African soccer federation CAF and always wants to connect with soccer.
It would have been exciting to observe a reaction of Polkadot's price if the deal had been signed. But unfortunately, if cryptocurrencies sponsor individual clubs, they are often e-sports teams.
Thus, the question arises as to why Barcelona rejected the two sponsorship deals…
