Since our last post about how to follow Crypto news, Coinfeeds has evolved from a bot on reddit to a crypto news site. Artificial intelligence is used to identify coins mentioned in news headlines and tweets, so that you can see a feed about each specific coin.

This makes me wonder, what are the most talked-about coins on Crypto Twitter? So we are publishing this into a daily Twitter chatter page.

Demo for a day

Top coins of the day

Here’s a demo for today, May 13, 2021. Here is the absolute ranking of the most talked-about coins today.

Bitcoin is usually at the top of the list. Due to recent events, Dogecoin is #2 — on previous days it was #1. Shiba Inu has fallen by -3 rankings since yesterday, after appearing in the top 10 only a few days ago.

It is always interesting to check the coins with very large changes in ranking vs the day before. Today, these coins are Avalanche (+18), DigiByte (+71), and Cardano (+13)

Clicking on the coin would show you the most influential tweets that drove the change in ranking. For Avalanche, it is:

This was in response to the news yesterday that Tesla sold Bitcoin because it is not sustainably mined, and is looking for greener alternatives. Additionally, Avalanche also has a slurry of other announcements today, such as a podcast with CoinGecko, and being listed on BTC Turk Pro. You can see all these tweets by clicking on Avalanche.

Digibyte is trending because it also claims to be greener, and it just listed on Crypto.com. Cardano is trending because of update announcements, and collaborations with other projects.

The top 10 coins on Twitter also tend to be established projects with a large community, and usually a large market cap.

We also show the top coins that changed the most in rankings in a day, regardless of where they are in the rankings —

Daily Trending Coins

Today, the trending coins are:

Weekly Trending Coins

How is this created?

First, we use the Twitter API to listen to over 800 Twitter accounts related to cryptocurrencies. This includes accounts by crypto projects, accounts that belong to crypto teams and founders, and individuals who frequently talk about cryptocurrencies.

Next, we created an AI model that identifies when a tweet is talking about a coin and then resolves that to a single coin in a knowledge base.

Finally, we aggregate the tweets based on the coins mentioned.

Where can I find the coins for today?

The Twitter chatter page will be hosted here: https://coinfeeds.io/discover, and updated daily. Hope you give it a try!
