Lunar New Year (sometimes referred to as Chinese new year) is coming up on 1 February 2022. It felt fitting to write an article on the Luna token and to make eight points on why this token is heading for the moon. I chose eight deliberately as this is perceived to be a lucky number in Chinese culture. For example, the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing began on 08/08/08 at 8 minutes and 8 seconds past 8 pm local time.

I’ve spread the points across three buckets: Macro, Company and Micro. Before we dive in, let’s first briefly establish what Luna is.

Luna is the Terra protocol’s native token, used for staking, governance and collateral for the network’s algorithmic stablecoins (across many nations). Investors buy Luna to participate in the growth of the Terra ecosystem.
