Here’s How the Bitcoin ETFs Performed in Year One

A look at the first year of performance across all of the US spot bitcoin ETFs.

The US spot bitcoin ETFs launched in January 2024 have now been in the market for one year. Excluding for Grayscale’s GBTC product, let’s look at how the top five ETFs by assets under management fared.

Top 5 by AUM:

1. IBIT
2. FBTC
3. ARKB
4. BITB
5. HODL

Top 5 Performance:

• IBIT: 110.28%
• FBTC: 109.74%
• ARKB: 109.31%
• BITB: 109.75%
• HODL: 109.92%

All five of the largest US spot bitcoin ETFs have performed within one percentage point of one another with BlackRock’s IBIT slightly outperforming the others.

Despite the success of the ETFs though, bitcoin still outperformed them by 20% during the same time frame.
