How to Get ETH Wallet Payment Notifications — No Coding Necessary

This is a little trick I set up a while ago that I feel other people might want to use. It’s extremely easy and delivers a notification to your phone each time you get a new deposit in any of your ETH wallets. Super handy and something that almost seems like it should be baked into the Ethereum ecosystem by default.

Ethereum as a cryptocurrency is pretty much the #1 best option currently for balancing between a solid *actual currency*, and the “next generation” of a greater blockchain-based computation platform (with the fancy trimmings of smart contracts, automation etc. etc.), but for a futuristic universal network-based cryptographically-secured wallet system, it’s somehow woefully lacking in simple all-in-one solutions for as simple tasks as, you know, letting you know when you get paid.

So without further ado, here’s a 5-minute fix to deliver you a notification straight to your phone as soon as any ether wallet of your choosing receives Ether — no coding, no logins, no wizardry necessary.

  1. Sign up on the TXHASH.COM tracker app and add your ETH addresses of choice to watch for new transactions. Under “do the following action”, choose “IFTTT”.

2. Add the TXHASH notification applet on IFTTT (you’ll have to sign up for this too — I know I know, more signups, I promise it’s smooth sailing after this. Honestly this is a sweet app everyone and their mother should have anyway)

3. Select your ETH address under the drop-down. Then download the IFTTT app on your phone.

Now anytime you get a new Ether deposit, you’ll know as soon as it hits your wallet. This actually works for Bitcoin and Litecoin wallets too, so have at it.
