Introduction

GALA Music recently launched its major platform this month in December 2023. After months of testing using their test loyalty token, BEAMS, GALA Music finally went live with the full platform token, $MUSIC.

This article will serve to assist people in setting up their GALA Music Nodes AKA Jukebox Player Nodes. With the MUSIC token now live, community members who saved up BEAMS and converted them to MUSIC, track owners, node owners, or people who simply purchased MUSIC from places like UniSwap, can now purchase additional Music Node licenses, exclusively with the new MUSIC token.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Stable Internet connection — For the purpose of this article, I am focusing specifically on setting up a Music Node on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) as they are easy to manage and stable. Nodes be online for more than 20 hours per day to earn rewards. I Recommend DigitalOcean but there are many options out there.
  • Operating System — This article will be focused on setting up a GALA Music Node on Ubuntu Linux. Although, there is an option to host the Node software on Windows.
  • CPU — Minimum 2vCPUs. There is no stated spec for GHz speed, but as usual, more is generally better if you have the budget for it.
