Boss Beauties and Mattel’s Barbie doll have partnered to create a line of on-chain virtual collectibles, marking Barbie’s entry into the world of Web3. The NFTs in the collection, named “Boss Beauties x Barbie,” pay tribute to Barbie’s 250 professions since she was introduced in 1959. The NFTs are sold on the NFT-specialized Flow blockchain for $25 for a pack of four, and their check-out process is designed to make Web3 more accessible for Barbie fans.

The collaboration between Boss Beauties and Barbie has a more significant mission of introducing one million women and girls to the Web3 world. Each pack of the NFTs offers a surprise element with varying rarity levels, unlocking both digital and real-world perks. The rarest of the NFTs unlock tangible rewards, such as limited-edition Barbie “Career of the Year” doll sets or tickets to the immersive “World of Barbie” exhibition in Los Angeles.

In addition to the NFTs, early-access purchasers will receive access to virtual Career Conversations with women leaders and a surprise virtual collectible. The Warner Bros. Barbie film, starring Margot Robbie, will reveal an exclusive career trait when it premieres in July, further underlining Mattel’s commitment to integrating blockchain-based products with its brands. The Boss Beauties x Barbie collection will officially launch on May 18 at Veecon.
