Passive income Mock Draft — DeFi edition. Take a look at who I’m drafting #1 overall as my favorite Decentralized Finance project.
Let me preface this article with one thing — I’m one of the biggest NFL draft nerds you’ll ever meet. I haven’t missed a draft in 25 years which includes months of hype-train lead up with the combine, interviews, rumors, and OTAs.
Starting Thursday night and extending through the weekend, there will be hundreds of names called by professional organizations to start their journey into the world of professional football. Lifechanging for all of them and the hope of reaching Super Bowl aspirations for all fan bases.
Now as some of you may know, there’s months of “Mock Drafts” leading up to the actual draft trying to project where players will land. Its great for fans to buy-in to the offseason and stay engaged while great for Owners / General Managers to create smoke-screens so no one “drafts their guy”. Tons of mind games being played for months to have the future of your franchise be built in three days.
What if we took this approach with DeFi and drafted our top-5 current projects?
That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Of all the DeFi projects I have money vested into — I’m going to give you who I’m taking in my top-5. I’ve been wanting to update my followers for awhile so as a bonus — I’ll show you the progress I’ve made thus far.
#5 — Libero Financial
Coming in at #5 — Libero Financial. An auto-staking protocol similar to Titano Finance that not only rewards rebases, but also opens the door for $BUSD passive income through the Libero Bank. If you haven’t already, you can read more of an in-depth review of this protocol in my first two articles found here and here.
Here’s a look at the progress made so far with Libero:
As you can see, the biggest thing that stands out to me is the stablecoin $BUSD passive income that is awarded through the Libero Bank through 7% of daily transaction volume. No matter how much the price of $Libero fluctuates, I can always depend on my rewards through the Bank.
#4 — Elephant Money
If you would have asked me (or anyone in DeFi) about Elephant Money a month ago, this would easily be the consensus #1 overall pick. Great tokenomics, great team, and very few holes anyone could find in the sustainability of Elephant Money. Until — an exploit was found and the reserve was drained through flash loans. Here’s a look at where I stand with Elephant Money:
One of my larger investments in DeFi overall — I was able to DCA (dollar cost average) after the exploit and double my position in Elephant. My bonds through Stampede have stayed steady earning me roughly 12 trunk per day as I continue to “roll” (compound) every single day. #3 — Titano Finance
The auto-staking protocol that started it all. Titano still has my heart as I was able to jump in pretty early to the protocol after becoming extremely bullish with their team. It’s been my most profitable project year-to-date with several thousands extracted to help solidify positions in other projects and convert some to Fiat money. It’s house money from here on out with Titano!

#2 — DRIP faucet
Good ol’ reliable contested for the first overall pick but recent issues with price volatility, Animal Farm, Piggy Bank, and delay after delay dropped this protocol to #2 overall. We’ve been promised utility for months without any results but the thing DRIP has above anyone else in DeFi is sustainability. DRIP eclipsed its first-year anniversary on 4/22/22 and continues to be stuck in the $30–40 price range.
Here’s a look where I’m at after four months in the protocol:
ROI was achieved during the ATH phase — hoping Forex Shark delivers on utility to see that price jump when whales start to exit the project after hitting max payout! Like I said before — good ol’ reliable.
