This bot trading platform is a SERIOUS competitor to 3Commas!

It has been a little while since I last wrote an article. Life has taken over a little bit but I took a week away with the family this week and realised that I really miss this! So, I’m back and I’ll be back with regular content too.
So, what’s on my mind?
My 3Commas subscription is coming up for renewal in 10 days. They’ve just announced changes to their subscription models & pricing which I took some time today to review and I’m not too impressed with the changes. I downgraded my subscription last year as I couldn’t justify paying $70 per month more for Multi DCA bots and a reinvest the profit option when I could put some manual effort in to do this myself. This is the difference between the old “Advanced” and “Pro” plan.
Before I talk about the challenges in the new subscription tiers, I do need to point out that people who already have a subscription on 3Commas can renew their current plans to keep their current functionality at current prices until they eventually cancel their recurring subscription. If you cancel your recurring subscription then once your subscription ends, you can only select the new pricing tiers.
So, what’s my problem with the new subscription models?
1 thing, 1 single dealbreaker that means I either need to pay for the top tier ($79 per month/$59 per month if paid annually), find an alternative or continue with my recurring subscription.
What is that dealbreaker you ask?
Sub accounts — As I understand it, you cannot manually add your exchange API keys which means you need the top tier to continue to split your assets across Sub Accounts. This was confirmed by someone in the Telegram chat.
Sub Accounts act as a way to split your funds across multiple accounts without needing to use multiple accounts (which isn’t possible with the KYC checks that the bigger exchanges implement). The primary benefit of using Sub Accounts is that if your API keys get stolen (of course this NEVER happens, right?) then this allows someone to access all of your funds. If you use a Sub Account, someone only has access to the funds that exist in that Sub Account. I don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t want all my eggs in one basket, figuratively speaking!
What’s an alternative option?
Well, I’ve been keeping tabs on an alternative since I received probably the best email I have ever read from their founder in December last year. I’m going to summarise what I’ve found so far….
This platform has all of the features I need to completely replace 3Commas. I can do all of the same DCA & Grid Bots settings that I can do on 3Commas.
Multipair DCA is supported as standard with up to 10 assets on the Free plan (Yes, FREE) and for up to 50 assets on their paid plans.
I’m only limited by the number of bots I want to run and the exchanges that are supported (which at the time of writing are Bybit/Binance & Kucoin with more coming soon).
I can run short/long bots on Spot or Futures using any currency (USDT, BTC, ETH, BNB etc) — check in the box.
Backtesting — the platform has something that 3Commas doesn’t and it’s a GAME CHANGER. A backtester for DCA bots. You can backtest any combination in the platform. TA based deal start conditions, TA based deal end conditions, percentage take profit conditions, TradingView Webhooks, EVERYTHING! You can backtest multi-pair or single pair across years worth of data.
The pricing is extremely competitive too (and free if you want to get started) — another check in the box for me.
They also seem to have a really good community on Discord. Their founder is there, he is responsive to the community and the project feels heavily community driven and focused.
I would love to see more exchanges so more people could take advantage of this platform and it seems like these are coming soon!
So what am I going to do?
I have 10 days until I need to decide whether to keep my bots running on 3Commas. I am going to move 1 of my short spot bots to see how it performs over the next few days. If I have a positive experience, then I’m seriously going to consider not renewing my 3Commas subscription.
