What Tool?

Microsoft Excel. Everyone knows this tool, but few know how to use it. \

First, we’ll look at how to create a basic Excel dashboard to track your portfolio.

2) Then, I’ll introduce a more advanced version of a dashboard.

Let’s dive in!

How to create your own Excel crypto tracker

We will start by exploring the easiest method before delving into a more detailed but slightly more challenging approach.

① Properly insert your tokens:

➬ Open or download Excel

➬ Enter the tokens from your portfolio in the format “TOKENUSD”

➬ Highlight the entered tokens

➬ Navigate to the Data section in Excel

➬ Click on “Stocks” data type

Yep, we’re dealing with crypto here, but you have to select “Stock”; it’s just how Excel works.

If you see a currency symbol, it means Excel recognizes the tokens you entered and will automatically display live token prices.

If you don’t see a currency symbol, that’s fine.

No need to worry.

You’ll simply have to manually enter all the price details in the future.

Provide some details for your portfolio:

➬ Include various sections

➬ For now, I’ll add: — “Coin” — “Amount” — “Price” — “Holdings” (calculated as Amount * Price)

You can also consider adding a “Date” column and other relevant sections.

Remember, customize this according to your personal choice.

Creating an actual Excel table:

➬ Highlight all your data

➬ Go to the “Insert” section

➬ Click on “Table”

➬ Press “Ok”

You can also select a special design for your table.

Adding more details to the portfolio:

When you start typing additional sections in Excel, the program should recognize them and assist you.

➬ I’ve decided to include: — “Current Price” — “Value” (Current Price * Amount) — “Gain / Loss” (Value — Holdings)

The 52-week high/low refers to the highest and lowest prices at which a token has traded within a one-year period.

This data is based on the security’s daily closing price.

Dashboard proper formatting

That’s pretty much it, but now you can try to experiment with various formatting.

➬ Make a title for your dashboard

➬ Make everything except the “Amount” section in currency format

➬ Try using different colors and symbols

➬ Go to “View” and unselect gridlines and formula bar

➬ You can also add a total portfolio value, which is basically a SUM function of all values

Conclusion
