Sort of.
Thanks to WHP Global and OpenAI’s Sora, the beloved toy store has been animated back to life.
But is this a genuine revival or just another desperate gasp?
We all remember the joy of roaming those aisles, eyes wide with wonder.
But that was before private equity turned it into a cautionary tale.
Now, AI is attempting to bring that joy back.
The new brand film, “The Origin of Toys ‘R’ Us,” claims to be the first ever produced using OpenAI’s text-to-video tool, Sora.
It’s a bold claim.
But how much of this film is really AI?
According to director Nik Kleverov, Sora got them “80–85% of the way there.”
The rest?
Good old human effort.
So, is this really an AI masterpiece or just a heavily edited attempt at relevance?
Who cares?
