Did you ever think the world’s richest man would co-lead a government department named after a meme cryptocurrency?
Well, welcome to 2024.
President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to head the new “Department of Government Efficiency,” aptly abbreviated as DOGE.
Yes, DOGE.
The same acronym as Dogecoin, the joke cryptocurrency that Musk famously promoted.
It’s almost as if irony took the wheel and floored it.
Trump announced that Musk and Ramaswamy will “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies.”
In other words, they’re tasked with making the government run like one of Musk’s startups.
Notably, Twitter.
