Web2 corporations, such as traditional technology companies, are continuing to explore the possibilities of Web3, the decentralized web. However, some companies may be approaching this transition in the wrong way.

One recent example of this is Porsche, the luxury car manufacturer, which announced that it would be releasing a limited number of digital collectible cars on the Ethereum blockchain.

However, the many issues with the release actually make Porsche a case study on “how not to join web3 for web2 companies”.

This somehow feels like closing the circle, as I applied to Porsche’s web3 advisory position and was rejected.

Porsche recently joined Twitter (Oct 22), to share details about its upcoming NFT collection that is going to mint on 23rd, January 2023.

To be fair, the news raised the enthusiasm of car aficionados and all crypto users: it’s always a testament of value when a big established Web2 brand joins Web3.
