Introducing Dean's List DAO
Dean’s List DAO provides feedback sessions for Web3 protocols (clients) in return for compensation. These feedback sessions comprise 2 weeks of community deep dives into the client’s protocol, website & socials with the ultimate objective being to suggest improvements to the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
Do You Need to Have Any Pre Qualifications to Give Feedback?
No. If you own a wallet, ever paid gas, swapped coins, and/or bought an NFT, consider yourself to be qualified enough.
What Feedback Do They Look For?
Anything. It could be as small as a latent connection to a client's dApp to a major bug that you encountered while doing user testing such that the dApp doesn't do what it says it will do. Clients pay for feedback to improve the protocol from a customer perspective & that is the guiding principle.
How Much Can One Be Paid Per Feedback?
For every feedback session that the DAO sells, a certain percentage of the revenue is allocated for feedback providers as a pool to share from.
This is then allocated to individual feedback providers based on a scoring system whereby each feedback is ranked by its originality and nature.
While it is theoretically possible for you to earn the whole allocation, practically speaking, averaging around 5-7% of the pool is a good yardstick. That is around $25 to $35 for a $500 pool.
How Regularly Is Work Available?
Until now, work has been available with remarkable regularity although like any business, expect lean days every now and then. That said, this is the best time to join in with 35 clients signed up!
When & How Are Payments Made?
Each feedback session runs for 2 weeks and the following week, payments are sent out to the Solana wallet of each Feedback provider who qualifies for compensation.
How Can You Get Started?
To become a member (called a "Citizen") of the DAO, you need to purchase a membership token or an NFT. However, the recommended way is to apply for a 30-day trial period through their "Business Visa" program.
The benefit of taking this route is that you pay nothing upfront but get to explore the community plus participate in all live feedback-earning pools for a 30-day period. If, at the end of the 30-day period, you feel you want to continue, go purchase a full membership via the two routes mentioned above.

Concluding Thoughts
Since its inception, the DAO has made $27,851 in payouts to members. That is almost $714 per member, which is excellent from the perspective that the DAO is only one year old & still very much in its infancy.
The Business Visa program is a recent initiative to help onboard new citizens by providing them the chance to explore the opportunity before they make any outlay for membership. Unlike Web2 models, there is no credit card information or the like required upfront. You can simply choose to walk away after 30 days if you feel you’re not a good fit — although the simplicity of the process makes it a good fit for almost everyone.
This is an innovative model where you, as a Web3 user, have nothing to lose & everything to gain!
