Who Created Bitcoin? Explained in 60 Seconds
Nobody is 100% certain who created Bitcoin. And it doesn’t really matter as Bitcoin operates as a decentralized, peer-to-peer virtual currency. It’s probably for the best that the creator, or creators, remain anonymous and inconsequential. Imagine if one person had control over the entire Bitcoin network! Nevertheless, the question always comes up as to the inventor of Bitcoin. What is known is that in 2008, a white paper entitled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” was published. This paper defined the system for creating a digital currency not reliant on any third party. Published under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, this white paper effectively triggered the cryptocurrency revolution. It is believed that the brains behind Bitcoin is actually a group of anonymous programmers.
