Why don’t we start from the start? I mean the very start: installing the app and creating your first wallet. New users now have an option for “fast wallet creation” that is a more streamlined experience and you will be up and rocking your new wallet in 5 seconds! Speaking of UX changes, Coinomi significantly modernized the interface in the most important parts, while maintaining the same overall feel and super user-friendly, uncluttered design. Following Google’s Material Design guidelines, important actions have a home in the always-accessible Fast Action Button (FAB).
The new FAB wouldn’t be nearly as exciting if it didn’t come filled with new goodies! This last year we included support for tools like WalletConnect so you can safely connect your wallet to websites that support it websites. Another major feature is the dApp browser. As the internet evolves to decentralization and web3.0, so does Coinomi. You can also now view your beautiful collectibles directly from the app.
New partnerships are flocking to the app. Joining Simplex, our European users can now purchase their crypto directly from the app via BTC Direct. Joining Changelly, you can conveniently exchange from one crypto to another via CoinSwitch and Totle. On to more serious and major changes, the last 12 months brought incredible options for securing your coins. First, multiseed support allows you to organize your funds in multiple seeds in a single instance of the app. You can control your log-term savings and daily-use wallet in the same app without the need to repeatedly restore each one. And the new encryption options let you keep each one as safe as you need. Each seed can independently have anything from no authentication (with encryption keys being handled by Android’s secure keystore system) to super paranoid biometric+password authentication. Along with a privacy PIN to open the app and show balances, this almost gives you a 3FA security. Feeling extra paranoid? Set your wallets to self-desctruct if someone tries to bruteforce your PIN.
We’ve been busy working on your privacy too! For those who don’t want to give up a single byte of information, you can connect your Bitcoin wallets to your own ElectrumX server. New privacy features include choosing the address format of the change addresses for your transactions, and coin control to set which UTXOs you allow to be spent.
Haven’t had enough? There’s more! Using Coinomi in general is much more convenient with features like support for address name services. Instead of entering a complicated crypto address, you can simply enter the destination alias like “bill.eth” or “george.zil”. Restoring on a new phone?
