1. Class Action Lawsuit Against Ripple Alleges Sale Of Unregistered Securities

Law firm Taylor-Copeland law has filed a class action suit against Ripple Labs for the sale of unregistered securities, according to the official complaint filed yesterday, May 3. The lawsuit targets Ripple, its subsidiary XRP II, and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, alleging that Ripple’s sale of XRP tokens is a violation of U.S. securities laws. Read more at CoinTelegraph.

2. Cardano Signs Agreement With Ethiopian Gov’t To Introduce Blockchain In Agritech

Ethiopia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cardano that will see developers use its blockchain in the local agriculture industry. Cardano lead and former Ethereum co-founder, Charles Hoskinson, made the announcement on Twitter earlier today, adding that the initiative will also focus on training developers how to use blockchain. 3. Mastercard blames cryptocurrencies for slight drop in first-quarter growth

A drop in customers buying cryptocurrencies with credit cards slightly dampened Mastercard’s quarterly growth, the company said on an earnings call this week. While cross-border volumes grew by 19 percent, that number dropped by 2 percentage points from the fourth quarter, in part because fewer people bought digital currencies like bitcoin with their credit cards.
