Summer’s Fading Glow

The warmth of summer sunshine on golden afternoons,

A fleeting dance with time, like waning crescent moons.

The laughter of children in the lazy midday haze,

Echoes of innocence lost in a sunlit maze.

Golden sands beneath barefoot steps, soft and warm,

A memory’s embrace, a sunlit storm.

Ice cream cones that melted too fast,

A sweetness gone, a moment past.

The hum of cicadas in the quiet afternoon,

A melancholic melody, a fading tune.

Sunflowers bowing under the weight of the sun,

Petals whispering tales of summers undone.

The splash of water in the backyard pool,

A shimmering mirage, a cooling jewel.

Long shadows stretching as the day grows old,

A story of summer, by time, gently told.

A sun-kissed memory, a touch too bittersweet,

The warmth of summer’s glow, a farewell in the heat.
