Dear community members, we are happy to present our latest biweekly report. The ColdStack team has been working hard behind the scenes in order to streamline the deployment of our mainnet. With significant progress being made on that front, we are very excited to take the next steps in our journey to enable decentralized storage networks (DSNs) to overcome centralized giants. We understand that this task may seem incredibly difficult at first, but with the continued support of our community, we are more than confident in our ability to meet this challenge.

Expansion of Alpha Testing

Due to increased demand for our alpha testing, we have elected to both expand the time frame under which it will take place, as well as to expand the number of participants we will allow to partake in this. We’ve received a great deal of feedback from our testers, which we are actively incorporating into our platform. The oncoming iteration of the alpha test will include a number of features which will significantly strengthen the functionality of the platform.

We will also begin to unveil several of early storage adopters to our community. While these adopters are not directly affiliated with ColdStack, in the same way those who purchase storage with Amazon are not necessarily a partner of Amazon itself, we seek to collaborate closely with those who wish to be part of our data storage revolution, and give them proper recognition for their support of the project.

If you would like to participate in our alpha testing, please reach out to a team member through Telegram, Twitter, or email.

UX/UI Upgrades

While we hate to risk repetition, we have implemented further improvements to our upcoming dashboard’s UX/UI. We have completed our work on the analytical charting section for our storage statistics, as well as for our upload and download bandwidth statistics. We’re very happy with how our design work is progressing, and we encourage our community to give us feedback. You can take a look at these planned upgrades below. These are actual screenshots of our functional front-end, as opposed to simply being an illustrative draft. Please note that the data in these screenshots is not reflective of current storage or bandwidth, however.

NFT Storage Grant Updates

We plan to begin announcing our first round of NFT storage grant recipients in the coming weeks. ColdStack plans to feature these recipients, as well as our mentality behind selecting them, in a series of short publications to provide an overview of the work these individuals or projects create. We are still accepting applications however, so please follow the link below to find out more about the program.

Token Unlock Updates

As many of you are aware, ColdStack’s current vesting agreement involves a token unlocking for August 15th, after being extended from our original agreement. We have been diligently listening to the concerns of our community, and will be altering our vesting schedule accordingly. While we have not currently solidified the details of these alterations, we will be publishing our plans in an upcoming article. The ColdStack team, as well as our initial investors, are committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure the health and stability of our platform, as well as actively addressing any areas of uncertainty that face our community of dedicated supporters.

Stay Updated

Please be sure to follow our social media accounts, so that you can stay informed regarding our various developments. We plan to unveil a number of notable announcements in the upcoming weeks, which we think will really show our community that we’re committed to building the ultimate decentralized storage platform.
