While it may not be one of the biggest cities in the country, you will have a hard time finding a spot that is more fun to visit than Nashville. The city is loaded with a rich history and exciting attractions that will satisfy visitors of all ages. These are the top four things to do in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tennessee State Museum

Tennessee was one of the first states not located on the East Coast to be admitted into the country. The long history of the state is celebrated every day in Nashville at the Tennessee State Museum. The museum’s main attraction is the Time Tunnel that lets visitors experience the entire history of the state using artifacts and photographs. In addition to the Time Tunnel, you will also find a children’s section and six rotating exhibits.

Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage

President Andrew Jackson spent most of his time after leaving the office on his plantation in Nashville. The home and its extensive grounds covering more than 1,100 acres have been accurately preserved to keep everything precisely like Jackson’s death in 1837. Guests will get a chance to tour the mansion and outdoor facilities when visiting The Hermitage.

Ryman Auditorium

No other city in the United States celebrates live music as much as Nashville. While you can see great music at just about every bar in the city, Nashville’s premier live music venue is the Ryman Auditorium. This historic theater was originally constructed in 1892. It also served as the permanent home of the Grand Ole Opry until 1974. The Ryman Auditorium now hosts concerts from top artists in every genre. If you do not want to see a show, then you still need to take the time to tour this iconic theater.

Ole Smoky Distillery

If you are looking for an excellent place to relax while visiting Nashville, you need to stop at the Ole Smoky Distillery. This large complex makes moonshine, whiskey, and beer. You can try out all of the products in the tasting room. There is also a huge outdoor area that features two popular food trucks, large television screens, live music, and multiple cornhole boards.
