On July 7th, we announced that the Colendi alpha product was ready to meet its first public users. We introduced the main features on our blog and described what Colendi will be introducing to its community.
As we release the alpha product to the volunteering members of our community, we wanted to prepare a guide that you can consult to better comprehend what’s inside Colendi.
When you first open the Colendi application, you are going to see a screen where you can login and register. To register, you will be asked to create a pin number, a password for yourself, and you will also be given a mnemonic 12 words code that we advise you to save to secure place in case you lose your password. If you are already registered, you can simply login to the application.
As you step inside the Colendi application you will land on the IDENTITY page. Below that, you will see additional pages titled SCORE, WALLET, and SETTINGS. In the IDENTITY page, you can see the name you registered and your Colendi ID number that is automatically generated and unique to you. Colendi ID is the self-sovereign digital identity that Colendi provides its users in order to include their relevant information in a private and protected model. When you use Colendi, the Colendi ID will be shared with the users on the network to keep your other data private.
On the bottom of the IDENTITY page, you will see an ‘ID Details’ button. In that page, you can see your Colendi ID number, which is your uniquely produced Ethereum wallet address, your IPFS profile, and network type.
On the SCORE page, you will encounter four links where you can click to connect your accounts for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Gmail. As you connect your accounts one-by-one, you will then see your first Colendi Score. Colendi Score is a digital score that is uniquely calculated by our protocol for each user. The protocol is programmed to calculate a Colendi Score with social media data, smartphone data, transactional data, phone data and over 1,000 other pieces of personal information. The algorithm then will store this score on the smart contracts of the Ethereum blockchain, where it will become a decentralized Colendi Score.
Go down a bit further and you will see two buttons, ‘Validate Transaction’ and ‘Access Location’. Both buttons will be available for use soon as we continue developing the app.
On the WALLET page, you can see your 15 Colendi Tokens, COD, and 0.01 ETH on the TestNet. You can interact with your friends or engage with others within the Colendi Community to send/receive COD, and you will see your WALLET page making the necessary changes. Below that, you will find the ‘Pay with Colendi’ button. Pay with COD enables the users to pay their debts in COD, however, this section is still under development. When the user clicks the button to apply for a loan, he will see a list of Colendi merchants. For the alpha product, we have put three dummy companies Dunder Mifflin Paper Co., Acme Co. and Hooli. If you click one of them, you will see a certain amount ready to be lent to you. When we launch Colendi on the mainnet, you can access microcredits through this interface.
Last page is the SETTINGS page where you will see a set of items. On this page, you can edit your personal information and security settings as well as access legal information, Colendi’s contact information, and more. When you enter the ‘Score Settings’ page, you can see that the user actually is in control of connecting his/her attestations and accounts to produce the Colendi Score. This is a specifically applied settings mechanism to let the Colendi users control their own Colendi Score.
We see Colendi alpha product as a cornerstone in our roadmap to establishing the Colendi Platform on a global level.
