New in Colibri: Video recording for Zoom meetings
Searchable transcripts + video recordings = better asynchronous knowledge sharing
With today’s Colibri update, we’ve added video recording to our app for Zoom, so you can record and share videos from your Zoom meetings.
Now when you finish your meeting, the video recording synced to the transcript instantly appears in your Colibri library.
The video recording feature is available in the Colibri app for Zoom to customers with a paid Zoom license, such as Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise.
Why it’s great
Recorded video is great for asynchronous knowledge sharing. People can watch it when it’s convenient for them. They can watch at the speed they want. They can jump to highlights and watch only key moments. They don’t need to take notes, because everything is already recorded and transcribed. If someone wants to find a moment when a specific keyword was mentioned, they can search the transcript and simply click on the keyword to jump to the right spot in the video.
As a bonus, videos are more engaging than text. Video content is less likely to get ignored by your colleagues — your team will actually pay attention to your findings and incorporate insights from your meetings into their work.
Use video recording in Zoom to:
- capture non-verbal communication cues such as body language and facial expressions when it matters;
- capture user interactions with a product during UX research conversations;
- capture slides presented via screen-sharing during the meeting;
- capture a demo call to share it with the prospect, so other decision makers can watch it asynchronously;
- create a library of the best customer demos, so new hires can learn best practices and onboard faster;
- record a presentation or an online design session for people who couldn’t attend the meeting live;
- share the voice of the customer with your team in a simple, engaging format;
How to record your Zoom meeting
To record and transcribe your Zoom meetings, you will need to install the Colibri app for Zoom. Please note that you can only record videos of the meetings you host.
- Start a meeting in Zoom.
- Click on the Apps button in the meeting toolbar and open the Colibri app.
- To capture video, turn on the Record video option.
- Click Start transcription.
After the meeting is over, the recorded video will appear in your Colibri library.
For users of the Сolibri Free plan, we’ll store videos for a maximum of 2 months. For Starter and Pro plan users, video recordings will be stored in Colibri for up to 2 years.
