Our Services

Reimagining public services

We need to put the human back at the heart of public services, bring services together around the realities of people’s lives and focus on what will enable them to thrive. We are transformation partners to local authorities, services, NHS organisations, civil society organisations and partnerships who want to shift public services towards collaborative ways of working, helping to change organisational thinking, culture and practice.

Developing collaborative leadership

Addressing complex challenges requires a type of leadership that can mobilise and focus action across a system of organisations and individuals, each with differing perspectives and competing priorities. Here, leadership is not a role; it is an activity. We design and deliver bespoke system leadership programmes for a wide range of organisations, partnerships and places, and for people at all levels, from local authority Chief Executives to ICS boards, civil society leaders to frontline staff, equipping people with the knowledge and skills they need to lead and mobilise for change across boundaries.

Collaborating with communities

Strong, active and connected communities hold the solutions to many of the challenges we face. Many public sector organisations are asking themselves how they can collaborate with local people effectively and equitably and invest in the conditions that give people the opportunity and means to participate in their own services and communities. We help organisations understand why and how to collaborate with local people and service users, making space for others to exercise power and take community action.

Creating learning organisations and systems

As an essential foundation for working in complexity, we support partners to develop a culture of learning, acting as a learning partner to teams, organisations, partnerships and collaborations. Our pioneering collaborative work on Human Learning Systems has highlighted the need to shift away from traditional performance management and accountability measures that seek to control, and instead develop organisational and system-wide approaches to learning that enable people to adapt services and support in real time. We help organisations and partnerships understand the importance of learning when tackling complex challenges; facilitate peer learning; develop learning culture, capabilities and practices; and co-design new learning tools and frameworks.

Place-based partnerships and teams

Changing outcomes in places requires collaboration across all sectors. We support organisations to form new partnerships or strengthen existing ones, develop new collaborative visions for people and places, and establish new collaborative ways of working across sectors. We also develop and strengthen collaboration in senior teams, building stronger relationships, empathy and trust.
