Faculty Learning Community on Public Scholarship

I served the Public Scholarship Faculty Learning Community from 2017–2019, and co-chaired in 2017. I led the group work by actively utilizing the design process to achieve the goals of the learning community. I was able to provide a shared process for collective actions and produce communication products that facilitate policy change. As a result, the faculty learning community was able to establish the definition of public scholarship, identify criteria and propose recommendations for the campus Promotion & Tenure guidelines. Thus, we were able to successfully officialize Public Scholarship as a legitimate form of research within IUPUI.
