New Leaders is a nationwide organization with the mission of ensuring high academic achievement for all children, especially students in poverty and students of color. In 2001, New Leaders launched its flagship Aspiring Principals program with a small cohort of 14 participants. Since then, they have prepared nearly 3,200 outstanding education leaders who reach nearly 500,000 students in more than 30 cities nationwide.

The design session aimed to help the cohort of 2019 1) Develop and specify the community profile they serve, 2) Develop frameworks for student and family-centered school design.

A total of 22 principals who have launched the process of exploring and envisioning a new school model attended the session.

My roles in this project include developing a session plan and creating the methods and tools of engagement.
