SAVI began in 1994 as a program of The Polis Center at IUPUI in partnership with United Way of Central Indiana. Since then, SAVI has become one of the country’s first and largest online community information systems. Each year SAVI serves hundreds of organizations, trains hundreds of people, and offers free data to thousands of users.

In this project, I developed a framework that converts SAVI from an online information system to a tool for community assessment and planning. Also, I designed the logical flow of tasks and data alignment for users to achieve goals.

This tool has served as a regional resource for developing policy, assessing community needs, and assisting funding decisions for community service agencies.
