A 100 word drabble which I hope you enjoy.

Fire Lair

It is seven years since we were here. A summer’s evening, the last rays of sunshine shimmering across the glassy lake reflecting deep red sky. You called it dragon fire, and us two dragons happy in our lair. You said no-one could hurt us. No-one did. Just you. You hurt us. Deliberately, coldly, systematically.

It took a long time for my inner dragon to rise from dormant, dazed confusion whilst you took everything from me. You felt pain then, felt the fear that you so casually dispensed to me.

Farewell, slayed dragon, sleep well deep below the fire lair’s depths.

If you liked this drabble please be kind and give it some applause — Thank you!
