Missing

Has anyone seen my momentum?
I seem to have lost it.

I’ve looked for it at the bottom of this wine glass
but I haven’t found it yet.
It was last seen hanging around my desk,
and I remember using it in my writing shed last week,
so it can’t have gone too far.
It was only new — that’s why I’m upset;
I’d used it for about a month, at most.
Before that, I’d lived for years without momentum,
being rather attached instead to its cousin -
procrastination.

So if any of you spot it,
please let me know.
I’d like to recapture it
if I can.
