Some questions…

  1. to what extent figure drawings can be abstracted to focus on motion?
  2. how do I apply what I learned from the previous unit to accentuate gestures?

wall sit

After doing some explorations of wall sit, I wanted to explore an action that is more dynamic and requires more movement of the body, so I decided to work with hurdles!

I divided the action to three different steps — before, during, and after jumping over the hurdle. From my previous meeting with Matt, I learned that I should try to make the connections of the joints more accurate, and make them. more smooth.

I decided to focus on the middle part of the hurdling because it’s most dynamic. Because the action is so dynamic and the limbs are so widespread, drawing from a front and back view can limit the communication of the action. While sticking to more of a side view, I decided to explore the height o the viewpoint.
