Stan’s Neuro Headphones
One of the greatest pleasures we have here at Collaborizm is seeing the extraordinary projects submitted by our users from the far corners of the globe. Some of the ideas are so visionary they make some of Elon Musk’s ideas look tame but they all share one common aspect: a passionate, highly skilled thinker who seeks feedback and help from peers to advance their concept.
One great example of such a project is “Stan’s Neuro Headphones”, which is a headset (which looks like a cross between Bose headphones and a electronic mind-reader) which provides a feedback loop between your brain signals and your smartphone, and which allows you to alter your mood by selecting different types of music (See: https://www.collaborizm.com/project/41G1VZWCx). Stan is Stan Lenandovsky, an accomplished designer, whose Collaborizm profile phrase is: “I am a Renovator and Inventor. All my life I am learning and creating. This is the main mission of my life. In this project, engineers with diverse specialties, computer scientists, teachers and many other talented people are collaborating with the project leader, Stan, to design this futuristic device — there are 100 teammates in the project! — and their passion in working (and playing) together is plainly evident. This is 21st century networking as people share knowledge, display their unique skills and inspire each other across many different time-zones.
What you can see from perusing this project is that Stan has taken his role as project leader quite seriously, for which we commend him. By regularly providing direction to his teammates as to what he needs and wants from them, and by acknowledging people who have helped him (both teammates and Collaborizm community members who have weighed in with questions and suggestions), he is ensuring that his project remains vibrant. In fact, Stan is currently “turning away” new members unless they have certain skills he needs, which also makes sense; he’s proactively managing the collaboration which is highly motivational to everyone who is participating.
Remember, you don’t need to start a project to participate in the Collaborizm community; you don’t even need to join one. You can provide mentorship, ask questions or inspire other people, and in the process gain respect from other users — which are formally recognized as upvotes, which contributes to your Collaborizm credentials, and online reputation.
