Why are Hackathons so much fun?

Hackathons come in all sizes, shapes, and forms.

There are few things more stimulating than a hackathon…. as caffeinated fueled developers work feverishly together on sleep-deprived teams, mostly for fun if not for some notoriety in the hacker community. But we thought that expanding on this format to allow for diverse teams of developers and non-developers alike to compete would be a fantastic idea!
