There are movies that perfectly embody the era in which they came out. Some of them had the ability to stop time and give us a precise cross-section of the fashions, trends and habits of a certain historical context. One that more than any other we can consider as a mirror of its time is The Goonies from 1985, the creature of Richard Donner (director and producer), Chris Columbus (screenwriter) and Steven Spielberg (creator of the story) will turn 35 on Sunday, June 7th.

A unique, unrepeatable movie, an absolute cult, one of the cornerstones of the 80s that everyone should watch at least once in their life, The Goonies represents a perfect blend of humor, adventure and thrill capable of entertaining anyone at any age.

In addition to being a cult for millions of people around the world, still represents the bible of the 1980s style that has dominated and continues to have a specific weight of relevance within the fashion world.

Corey Feldman, Mouth in the movie, is the emblem of the ’80s fig.
With his Prince T-shirt and his Members Only jacket he represents the pinnacle of coolness eighties.

Chunk‘s style is pure poetry, floral aloha shirt and check patterned panta. Perhaps Dennis Rodman was inspired by one of the most iconic characters of American cinema in the 80s for his outfits.

The character of Data (Jonathan Ke Quan) instead, would be the epitome of cool even today. Long military green custom trench coat with several patches, denim with lapels and a pair of Nike that would make any sneaker enthusiast envy.

The braces represent a cult for those who follow the heritage style. The character of Sloth wears a red pair combined with a Superman tee with cut sleeves, instant classic.

The movie Flashdance cleared all the “gym” clothing. Short-sleeved sweatshirts, aerobics shorts, headbands and whoever has more, perfectly express the personality of Brand, played by a very young Josh Brolin, the oldest of the group, precise and obviously well-trained.

The concept of casual declined to its highest level thanks to the character of Michael “Mikey” Walsh, the “boss” of Goonies: double denim (jeans and jacket), grey cotton sweatshirt and Nike on the feet. Simply perfect.

I could go on for a long time but I’d rather not be procrastinate and invite you to see The Goonies again on its 35th birthday to celebrate one of the films that marked the childhood of millions of people around the world and which, we discovered, dictated the rules of the 1980s style.
