If you are not a Medium member, please read this on my Substack.

Every night before bed I run through a few Duolingo exercises. Depending on the day I might play through a Spanish, Irish, or music game.

Whenever I am running through the Spanish exercises I’m hoping for volver to show up.

I don’t know if it’s possible to explain how much I love this word. It’s so much prettier than “return” in English. Vuelve. Come back.

It’s just a pretty word. Vuelveme. Reconnect with me. Love me again. Come back to me.

Art is calling you back

There was a time you loved to create. You may have sat with a Bic (Biro) in math class drawing random shapes on your jeans. Maybe you, like my daughter, hid behind the couch and created a world on the wall with Crayola. Or you kept a list of words you loved and wrote sentences and stories with them to keep them in your brain (this was probably just me).

The point is you loved the act of creation at one time, long before the critic in your head decided they loved to put down everything you made.
