JSConfCo 2023: Schedule Updates
Hola friends!
Creating a community conference is like embarking on an epic adventure, full of opportunities to make new friends, share all that sweet knowledge, and strengthen the bonds that tie us together. But you know what? It’s not all smooth sailing. Nope, we’re here to tell you that organizing an event like this can be a wild rollercoaster ride, and we’re totally up for it!
One of the most incredible things we do is bring in speakers from around the globe. Don’t get us wrong; it’s exciting and eye-opening. But guess what? It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Our beloved Colombia, as warm and vibrant as it is, sometimes throws us curveballs that could make planning a picnic in a thunderstorm seem easy. And our international speakers, with their world-famous status, have calendars busier than a beehive!
The speaker lineup is live
With these twists and turns, we decided to take a fresh look at our Call for Proposals (CFP). We were blown away by the incredible response — 517 talks from 266 candidates! Talk about talent and enthusiasm galore. Our selection process was no joke, and we followed the systematic approach described here. Five community experts pitched in, reviewing and voting on the content to craft a killer program.

Other Updates:
- Sarah Drasner — We’re bummed that Sarah won’t join us this year. Unfortunately, she has canceled her attendance due to some new responsibilities at work. We wish her the best with her new responsibilities.
- Guillermo Rauch — Unfortunately, Guillermo won’t be able to make it this time due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. We totally get it, and we’re rooting for him in whatever he’s got going on.
CFP selections have filled their spots. It’s a bummer not to be able to host them at our conference, but we understand sometimes things are out of our control. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Can you believe it’s been a whole decade of JSConf Colombia awesomeness? We’ve laughed, we’ve learned, and we’ve made memories that could fill a library. As we approach our 10th anniversary (yep, you heard right, it’s going to be our grand finale), we’re overflowing with gratitude for all the magical moments we’ve shared.
This year, despite the plot twists, our dedication is unbreakable. We’re promising you an event packed with knowledge, love, and the same enchanting vibe that’s been our trademark all along. Let’s make memories to last a lifetime!
