Welcome to Colony’s newsletter, where we share the latest news, important upcoming events, and relevant information regarding our project and community.
This newsletter will specifically cover Colony’s achievements during the two-month period following its launch and share information regarding the strategic coming features.
What is Colony?
Colony is a community driven accelerator, evolving into an inclusive DAO, to boost Avalanche’s ecosystem growth. Powered by a governance token: $CLY.
Colony will deploy capital within Avalanche on early-stage projects, provide liquidity to DeFi protocols, maintain an Index on top Avalanche projects, and validate networks through stacking capabilities. The true sustenance and value generated by Colony’s investments will be routed back to the Community with features like multiple airdrops, a buyback mechanism and staking rewards.
A first in the entire crypto space, Colony conceptualized a revolutionary approach: Ecosystem Farming. One coin (CLY) to access the growth of an entire ecosystem, Avalanche.
Simply put, this concept introduces a four-sided innovative passive income with exposure to the entire Avalanche ecosystem through the simple act of staking CLY:
- Early-stage projects Airdrops
- Liquidity Provider rewards
- Validator Program rewards
- Index fees
Our Achievements
The highest raise on the Avalanche Ecosystem:
Prior to our launch we’ve raised 21million in order to accelerate development, growth, and innovation across the Avalanche ecosystem. The funding raise is the biggest raise to date on Avalanche. It was led by The Avalanche Foundation and saw participation from Shima Capital, Hashkey, GBV Capital and Bixin Ventures. Early community members also participated in the raise.
Fundraise numbers:
- Seed: $1 000 000 USD
- Private: $17 500 000 USD
- IDO on Avalaunch: $2 000 000 USD
- IEO on MEXC: $500 000 USD
- For a total Raise of: $21 000 000 USD
IDO:
Colony’s IDO was held on Avalaunch the 6th of December 2021 and saw a record-breaking number of registrations: 29,629.

Colony was live trading the 8th of December, 2021 on:

- Pangolin
- MEXC
Staking Data:
- 81% of the initial circulating supply was staked in just 5 days after TGE.
- As of today, 95% of the initial circulating supply is staked (15,71 million CLY staked of the initial circulating supply that is 16,6 million CLY)
Early-Stage Projects Investments:
While the roadmap states Q1 2022 for the deployment of capital in earl-stage project, CLY stakers have been incentivized even before, during the very first month of our protocol’s launch with airdrops of early-stage investments (Imperium Empires and TaleCraft).
We made sure that our offering embraces the importance of community, focusing on Avalanche exclusively and tokenized our value in a fashion that is optimized for crypto users.

Avalanche Ecosystem’s deal-flow continues to expand, and Colony’s portfolio continues to grow alongside it as weeks go by. The numbers of airdrops will become more consequent the coming months as Colony continues to deploy capital in innovative promising projects with much higher ticket sizes.
Colony’s community members will soon have access to this deal-flow on our application and vote on projects interested in investing in.
Liquidity Providing:
Colony provided a total of 700,000 USD to boost Oh!Finance and Axial’s TVL.
Exciting news regarding Liquidity Providing in partnership with Yeti Finance will be unveiled in the coming days.
Colony’s First Incubated Project:
Colony revealed its very first incubated project on the 17th of December 2021: Valk-DeFi.
Valk-DeFi is an asset management dashboard for creating, managing and tracking your DeFi positions and much more. You can read more about this protocol through this link.
Colony teams up with Moralis and Avalanche for the Winter Hackathon:
Colony joined Moralis Avalanche Hackathon to support the next wave of Web3 developers.
Colony provided a dedicated prize pool that totals $10,000 for the project that will build a solution related to its Index feature.
Colony will deploy capital into this Index (close to $2M) and would like to open its functionalities to other market participants as well. Therefore, Colony aims at creating a pool where anyone can commit USDT to be exposed to these projects. Talented developers will be able to build an optimal process that allows users to access the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem through Colony’s Index.

Integration of new features:
For some time now, active community members and devoted stakers of CLY have strongly suggested the integration of the following elements:
- Claim all Airdrops button
- Add project token address to MetaMask wallet
- Unstaking warning reminder
The integration of these features is the result of Colony’s community feedbacks and the core team’s observations. Please note that many more application’s components will be deployed in the coming weeks, such as the Unstaking Penalty.
What is to come?
Partnership with Yeti Finance:
Colony announced an official partnership with Yeti Finance, a new interest-free decentralized, non-custodial borrowing protocol, that will be launching on Avalanche. This partnership will unlock the deep and innovative utility offered by Yeti Finance, to leverage Colony’s Index and stablecoins capital up to 11x with 0% interest fees.

As both projects mature, more use cases will be found. We trust that our long-term collaboration with Yeti Finance will help further empower the Avalanche Ecosystem.
Better UX/UI and deployment of a new smart contract with strategic features:
A brand new Colony’s application experience will be unveiled by the end of next month with the deployment of the new smart contract and other strategic features.
These features include the early-stage deal-flow, Colony’s Avalanche Ecosystem Index, etc…and other exciting innovative integrations (confidential at the moment but we promise something big is coming). Are you ready?
The new staking contract will permit fee generated mechanisms, thus fostering further the incentives of long-term stakers. A new token will be linked to this staking contract enabling CLY stakers to access more opportunities inside Colony’s application, especially within the upcoming early-stage feature.
The early-stage feature is a first in the entire crypto industry, a set of innovative smart contracts will power access to vested tokens, community engagement and voting mechanisms. On the front end side, the early-stage feature will display the entire deal-flow of the Avalanche ecosystem with voting, comments, ranking mechanisms, and much more. Colony’s community value access will be exponential once this feature is released.
