1, 2, 3…🎙✔ ️for audio messages
Two weeks ago we announced the release of video messages. Today, we’re following with audio messages, which simply requires a Wire app update for iOS or Android. Audio messages are also supported on the desktop apps for Windows and OS X, and for Wire for Web.
The ability to send quick voice bits instead of written text has been one of the most requested features for a while, especially from people who are often on-the-go and too busy to type. It’s also very popular among people in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
Wire audio messages are end-to-end encrypted, just like everything else in your conversations. Adding them as an additional way to securely communicating in Wire is another step for us in building a private, modern communications platform with a great user experience and features that people love.
The latest version of Wire also has an updated video calling algorithm that adapts better to your network conditions—this will improve the video calling experience. A keen eye will also notice some legibility refinements to typography throughout the app.
We’re @wire on Twitter. Bring your questions, feedback and ideas.
