Listen now to episode 57 of Coloring Crypto: Facebook Libra

Tegan Kline and Miko Matsumura join Coloring Crypto to discuss the meaning, debate the potential impacts, and laugh together as we apply metaphors from Star Wars and The Game of Thrones on Facebook’s foray into digital money. (Picture Zuckerberg as the Night King).

Does this validate cryptocurrencies or is it a threat to squash Bitcoin?

There is no lack for commentary and opinion on Facebook’s entrance into “cryptocurrency”. It’s huge, and it’s huge in a way that many are falling into the trap exacerbated by the form of exchange on Twitter, seduced by validating clicks for false outrage and crappy headlines.

In my humble opinion, this episode could be one of the most accessible guides to understanding Facebook Coin (Facebook Libra). I’d love you to send me better ones. Humbly, I found the conversation a civilized effort to explain what it is and how to best perceive the potential positive and negative impacts. What do you think? Share your thoughts.

While the long term impacts are impossible to predict, that Facebook’s recent entrance into cryptocurrency matters, is undeniable. Facebook, the most known and least trusted company is in the business of printing money. This is historic.
