Good news everyone! Columns now have Archive. Multiple archives, actually. But more on this later.

Archive is a place for stuff you want to hide, but don’t want to be deleted. Simple as that. Completed to-dos, long term ideas, or past events — anything you don’t need at the moment you can move to Archive.

There is not just a single archive though, but many of them. Each column has its own. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it — It’s so much easier to find an archived card in a place it initially belonged to than rummage through some overfull junk folder. Besides, it opens up countless possibilities for use.

Let’s look at the ‘Watch list’ board, for example. Each watched item is moved to a proper archive so a user can always find what he/she watched and when (since cards are sorted by date). The result is a clean and well-structured board that is very easy to use.

Try Archives and tell us about your favorite use cases. Drop a note to hey@columns.me; we’re always happy to hear from you!
