Kellen here! I’m going to give you guys something called “Kellen’s Corner” every other week discussing current arcs within Marvel, DC, and Maybe Image comics if the arc is pretty interesting. But without further banter today i bring you :

The Beginning of the End

Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule are finally giving us the multi-issue story arc that finally tells us one thing we’ve had questions about since Secret Wars(2015) ended: What happened between Scott Summers and The Inhumans of New Atilan?

The Story Arc begins off with the past Uncanny X-Men team consisted of : Scott Summers (Cyclops), Emma Frost, Magik, Iceman, Goldballs, and the Stepford Cuckoos.

As we turn to the first page of this colorful chapter, The Uncanny team is seen soaring over the Atlantic Ocean in the Blackbird Jet playing back an old message received from them from none other than Jamie Madrox from Muir Island. As the story Pans over to Japan, we discover the Uncanny Inhumans squad consisted of Crystal, Gorgon, Flint, Grid, Naja, and Iso. As they monitor the Terrigen Mist consume the city, the Mutants have landed on Muir island which is drenched in Terrigen residue. Unsettling to them, they manage to find Madrox withering away from the newly(at the time) M-Pox Virus. Back in Japan, The Inhumans run into a Hydra Death Squad, but in the midst of things Terrigenesis takes place and births a brand new Inhuman, who manages to put every Hydra agent to sleep with his brand new powers.

Towards the end of the first Issue, Cyclops sums up the incident on Muir Island as an attack from the Inhumans, and also lays the foundation of this story by explaining between the two factions of the Inhumans as well, both stating that “We take care of our own.”

They Lied.

Carrying on into the second issue we are located at New Attilan, The Capital City of the Inhuman Nation. Where Storm and Medusa(Queen of the Inhumans) are both seen sharing a conversation between them discussing the Lethal effects of the Terrigen Mist as it Kills Mutants. Medusa backs her statement saying that some mutants have been exposed to the terrigen gas beforehand and none of them have suffered ill effects. Storm and Medusa come into contact with the Uncanny Inhumans squad who are en-route to Madrid as they have discovered a terrigen cloud is traveling towards the city soon to consume it as well. But then in an instance, Scott Summers(Cyclops) uses the powers of Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos to Telepathically project a very cryptic message to all Inhumans and Mutants, including the rest of the human populace. In short, the message relayed describes the Inhumans as liars as Scott reveals to the world that the Inhumans have released a fatal toxic gas into the atmosphere. At this point, the game has changed.
